I am a product of Boston Public Schools. Resources and support that was once offered to me, continue to be cut away. I am an educator for BPS and as your city councilor equal opportunity education will be my #1 priority because I not only hear about these issues, I live them. We must provide proactive solutions, not only for our general education families but families supporting students with special needs. A students zip code, family socioeconomic status or the language they speak at home should never hinder their abilities toward success. It is unacceptable that our students and families seldom have a voice in the decision making process. It's time to shape policy, not with just data, but with real lived experience.
